After your pool has been replastered, we recommend brushing the pool for two weeks, twice a day if possible.

The purpose of brushing is to push the plaster residue towards the main drains to keep it from settling on the new plaster and clear the water as quickly as possible. The process is to start at the entry steps, brushing toward the main drains. It is important to brush the entire pool, including the walls.

The first step is to drain, stabilize, and acid wash the pool. Next, we chip around the fittings and light niches as well as any hollow areas of plaster that need to be removed. We then apply a resin-based Bond Kote, which is much like taking the pool back to gunite for the new plaster to adhere. This part of the process takes one day.

On the second day, we apply the plaster and begin filling the pool. This process is usually started very early in the morning and completed in the afternoon. We put the hose in the pool and begin filling it.

It is a misconception that quartz or pebble surfaces are rough surfaces. If the application is done properly, they are not rough.
